Default 20ga 198084 Serial Number History Search

So it turns out, the V Grade 20ga we have has a high grade stock on it with serial number 198084 on the stock and skeleton butt plate. It was added to this gun at some point in time but the 206xxx serial number our gun has isn’t listed in the Parker Identification and Serialization Book so we can’t find any info on it.
Would any one on this forum actually have the 20ga with serial number 198084? We’d like to learn some of the history on this one!

Keven, I do not own 198084 but I did research it some. According to the serialization book it was a grade 2 gun (GHE) with 26" Parker Special Steel barrels chambered 20ga and capped pistol grip stock.
Being that the stock has grade 5 checkering, grade 5 drop poinst and skeleton buttplate and a 5 stamped in the trigger guard inletting, I would say it is a lower grade stock that has been upgraded to grd 5. According to the Parker Story there were no 28ga, 20ga or 16ga grade 5 guns made with 6 digits in the serial number that ended in 084 that they had record of.
I don't know if that helps in any way.

Thank you, Dave!
That’s interesting! The stock on our gun does have the “5” stamped in the trigger guard inletting. I also found the serial number in the Parker Serialization Book, and it’s listed as a P2 Grade.
I have photos of the gun and the stock in question on another thread I have posted.
I’d really like to know where this stock came from and how and why it ended up on our gun.
