A couple of nice birds you've got there Kent. The one on our left (in your right hand) looks to be the bigger bird - what were their weights? And did you Parker-ize them?

Please allow me to introduce Mr. John Jackson, my best friend and manager of 36 years, the man who makes country life possible while we are in The City tending to less desireable tasks. He can plant anything, fix anything, drive anything, pull tractors out of the mud when I stick them, bulldoze fallen trees off our roads and always knows where the turkeys are scratching, the deer are scraping and the bass and bream are bedding whenever I want to go looking for them. He can also hold two 20 pound gobblers aloft until one fiddles his camera into picture taking mode. I myself can only heft one at a time, but I promise you, it did weigh a tad over 24.
Note...I am sorry to report these gobblers were not Parkerized. I had my eye on a 32 inch DH F&F for just this purpose, but our friend George landed it. These were killed with a Charles Lancaster 12 bore. |

Wish I had a best friend like him! He sounds like quite an accomplished gentleman with many fine attributes - you're lucky to have each other.
What a dandy Sunday morning bird that is - congratulations! |

Just tell me what the address is and where to order my permit! Wow, what a beard on that bird you're holding!!!
Your friend is one of a dying breed, there ain't many like him down south anymore. I know a couple, two brothers that push for rails over in Virginia, but they're the only ones. DLH
