Default GHE 20

When I do my part this gun is instant death.

The pattern plate photo is 7/8 oz 8 shot at 45 yards, most in 30” circle.
The shot is a tad low which was the Indian not the arrow. I was doing a quick mount and shoot for other reasons.

Don’t think any modern choke tubes can better this.

Default GHE

.028 in both tubes.
It is a non safety gun that was ordered for California ducks in 1911 by the Commissioner of the California Game and Fish.

Very impressive pattern at that distance. Nice gun BTW. I'm sort of a long barrel fan myself.

I have a 1911 GHE 20, 30" Parker Special Steel, Ball grip, Splinter, 2 frame with 3" chambers as measured by William Larkin Moore about 15 years ago. I'll have to pattern it.

Default GHE 20

Frank Newbert was quite the shooter/ hunter Google has lots of info on him, here are a couple pictures I found.
Notice in the text of the duck hunting picture it is mentioned he was a two cylinder man, got to wonder If this little 20 was on this hunt.

Sorry for sideways pictures.

Great info. But, for those of us who don't have a 20 with 30 inch tubes yet, the prices probably just went up! Thanks for sharing.
