[QUOTE=Robert Rambler;27804]Yes but why?? With inventory at a five year high?? Prices fell off a cliff in the last few days though.
I hear the Chinese are planning to increase baby toy and food production for the US market. |

I believe it is part of the bull market we are seeing in all commodities. Also with the Federal Reserve taking actions that devalue the US Dollar that is going to push prices of everything up. Remember they think a little inflation is good for the economic recovery . The government won't report it later as inflation via the CPI but the prices of most metals, food, oil etc is going up.

I recently bought at $29/bag for Eagle Magnum shot from a local supplier that runs his sideline business out of his garage and the back of his pickup truck, he too; says it is going up next time he buys. A local (Marathon, WI) gun club recently had their club grounds mined and are selling this reclaimed shot for $22/bag---it's some nice, clean stuff.
There is a thread on shotgunworld.com that a couple of posters are claiming that reclaimed shot can damage reloaders. I guess I can understand that if there is steel shot in the reclaimed shot that this could possibly happen, but this local club, to my knowledge, has never required that steel be shot at their club. |

Maybe this is the beginning of the hyperinflation predicted by some pundits. Glad I have 1000# of shot in the basement, tho I could use some more of a couple of sizes.

And Richard you'll need every ounce of that shot to keep that infamous outhouse s---cicle from going through the roof.

Funny you should mention that. While at deer camp this past weekend I took notice of the lengthened 'stalagmite' in the privy. I looked around for an appropriate Parker to perform the task but I hadn't brought one along. However, I was lucky enough to find a 34" shotgun belonging to another hunter who had occupied the camp back in October. I removed the forend and barrels and, holding onto the muzzle end of the barrels, swung the heavier breech end to knock it over and tamp it down to a more reasonable height - after which I leaned the barrels against the side of the privy for future service
