The buttplate is fine. But the screws... that is a different story.
And to imagine that someone thought all those inlays looked good.

"with an added vent rib by a very competent gunsmith".... looks original to me judging by the hand-engraved legend which looks exactly like other originals I have seen.

Why does the safe show "R" instead of "SAFE"? Is this some type of barrel selector?

I could deal with the I think replacement forend but I’d have a hell of a time dealing with the funky inlays .

I believe the forend is also original... except for the inlays of course.

I have looked at this gun online at some point in the past. I do like seeing someone making a gun their own...

I like it because it's different. All I would need to do is replace the phillips screws in the buttplate and have a spliter forend fitted.
