John,
With them good looking dogs, I would have thought they were in the trees far center. Craig |

I had a Golden Retriever many years ago, each time she went into heat a blue tick hound took up residence on the front porch, stayed there for days. I could not find the owner any place near us. I have no idea how far he came. John, yes it can be a long walk- I had a setter that would lock up on a woodcock from a real distance (maybe not that far)- you could not walk in from the side, you would walk in front and look back a couple times to make sure you were on the line to the bird.

Yes, It still amazes me that they lock up when scenting at let alone 10yrds when I can't smell the bird at 10 inches.

Frank, maybe you'd make a better retriever than pointer. How are you in the water?

I think we've probably all seen the signs on the lodge bathroom which announce "pointers" and "setters"
