The answers should be fun. I doubt if 1 in a 100 shooters ever do a real pellet count.
Here are mine in order of requested: .003" .008" '016" .022" Bob Jurewicz |

I agree with you Dean 100%... but when looking to buy a gun the actual choke constrictions is all I have to go by unless there's a letter available. Being able to pattern it would be after it becomes mine.
The gun I'm referring to measures .006 & .017 |

Also keep in mind that patterns can, and will, be affected by the shell/loading used in it. With the same constrictions, varying the load can vary the percentages of the patterns considerably.
I do understand what Karl is trying to determine. Here's Hallowell's ideas on it. By giving a range for each, Hallowell is allowing for variances in choke profile and loadings used. Very smart, IMO. http://www.hallowellco.com/choke_chart.htm Stan |

I agree with Bob's figures, which are very close to Hallowell's figures. The gun you are considering is a classic improved cylinder and modified..

Thanks for posting that Stan, I printed off a copy to put in my reloading notebook.

Those are most certainly what I would consider to be Skeet chokes on a 16 gauge. .

IC/Mod, according to Hallowell. But his 12 gauge Mod range includes what I would consider a Light Mod and his Imp. Mod range includes what I would consider a Light Full.
