Jim Thyne of Ivory Beads agrees with Dave, although my offers of $4500 and $4750 were both rejected.
The questions for me become, 1)How much is having it now worth? 2)How quickly will an equal condition gun surface at the lesser price? 3)What value can you place on a purchase from a trusted seller? Thanks so much for your responses. I'm thinking I'll pull the trigger on this one. Bobby |

My reply - is pull the trigger now.. It's a nice, higher condition V grade... I also met that library manager once on a trip to the west, and my opinion is that he is a "straight shooter"...
As well, you might also see Parkers in higher condition going for less - and Parkers of lower condition going for more. But, if you buy at the price that fits your budget and needs - and the one you posted is a fair price for a great condition gun... I can say this as I just unwrapped a D grade sub gauge that I bought almost two months ago - and a friend held for me until I returned back from my weeks in Haiti - which he shipped when I got back a few days ago... As I write this, I'm sitting here admiring it - and I'm not looking at comp values. Rather, I'm just thrilled... I'm guessing you will be as well if you snap up the V grade you posted about... Hope this helps! john |

My first impression was great gun but about 20% overpriced. That being said if the gun fits your need and you can afford it , buy it because in a few years it will only cost you more. Remember the old saying, you never pay too much for a good Parker, you just pay it too soon.

First off, thank you for your timely replies, I appreciate your input.
Funny that you speak of the gun fitting my needs. I've recently sold my first and only Parker (1904 VH 30" XFull/XFull) because it really didn't fill the bill for a Continental Trap gun. Even though it was used only occasionally, it just wasn't quite right. Since then, I decided that the only need I have regarding a Parker is that I need to own one. I shoot Supers and 21's and can meet all my shooting and hunting needs with those fine guns, however, I felt a sense of emptiness not owning a Parker to occasionally take out and shoot. Couple that with the fact that I have invested in The Parker Story and have barely scratched the surface of that voluminous endeavor, there just really is no choice, I've got to have another Parker. I suppose I'm preaching to the choir, I believe you folks know what I mean. Thanks, Bobby Last edited by Bobby Cash; 02-26-2010 at 12:26 PM.. |

Bobby, get something off that bad boy and buy it. That is a nice looking gun gun. IMO, you will NEVER regret high quality Parkers.
