Default 2.5" 28 Gauge Cheddite Hull Load

Looking for a tested load using 2.5" 28 gauge Cheddite hulls. I will use Cheddite primers. Hoping for something using 20/28 powder but have some other choices as well.

Appreciate any details.

I am looking for similar data:
Does anyone have a recipe for: 28 Ga AA Hulls, Alliant 20/28 Powder, Claybuster wads, using Cheddite Primers? Thanx, Billy

You might ask Precision Reloading as they had a few loads for the 2-1/2" 28 in their Shotshell Reloading Manual. All the loads used Universal powder and Remington primers.

Dean, I am using 12.5grs 20/28 in both Cheddite, and Fiocchi 2.5" hulls.
Because of intermittent component shortages, I use Sporting 28-II wads with a standard, unmodified 3/4oz charge bar. The Mec bar drops 13-14 #8 pellets short of 3/4oz.

I have another 3/4oz bar that I reamed out, to get a full .750oz, and when I was out of the SG28-II wad, used the PT-2895 wad. That wad needs a full 3/4oz to get a good crimp.

I never bothered to send these out for testing because that's the charge that Daryl shoots and That's good enough for me.
It's pretty tame. Not Daryl, the 28ga load.

Default Thanks

Thank you Edgar!

I am experimenting a bit with both 5/8 and 3/4 oz loads. Right now, I am using Win 572 with the SG28 wads in a Cheddite hull/primer.

I appreciate your information for 20/28 powder as that is what I have most of.

Best!
