Question Ejector problem ?

Just bought a new gun home..
What is the purpose of the small screw in the lug that fits into the recess
on top of the barrels? Lug fits into the receiver breech.Does this screw have
any control on the auto ejectors?

The ejectors on this C grade push past the usual stopping point when ej ecting the snap caps.I am pushing them in by hand. The little rods that potrude into the slots on the lug that fits into the receiver are not catching the ejector rods.
Anyone ever had this problem..??
Appreciate any help..

There is a flush fit ejector/extractor retaining screw between the rear lug and the hook in front that stops them. It's either worn or the detents in the ejector rods are worn where the screw hits them. That retaining screw should come out easily-they're rarely tight; just remove it and pull the ejectors out for inspection. The problem should be obvious.

There is a screw that secures a small dovetailed plate at the rear of the dolls head. It retains the ejector blades, most ejector guns do not have the screw Richard refers to. If you examine the bottom of the dolls head you will see 2 slots that the ejector blades slide in, either the tits on the ejector blade is worn or broken or the dovetailed plate is damaged at the bottom. the plate is difficult to as it is well fitted on most guns , it slides down after the retaining screw is removed.

Thanks for the correction Jim. You're correct of course. I haven't been into an ejector gun in a while and forgot about that system of limiting the ejector travel vs what they have for extractors.
