Default Just five more months

Every Sunday the wife and I go for a conditioning hike in a near by canyon. It keeps our,and the dogs, legs in shape. Today our setter Timber made a nice solid 30 second point on this little guy. He flushed to a nearby pine and was willing to pose for a few pictures. Five months will go by in the blink of an eye.

I guess that's why they're called "Fool Hens"

Hmmm... could we call them "sitting ducks" when they just hop up on a nearby branch?

He just knows it isn't grouse season. Come September it will be flush wild and put the nearest tree between me and him.

I dunno about that, five months of Michigan summer seems pretty long to me. Thankfully I'm leaving for Argentina in about six weeks, that will sort of break up the wait.....

Destry,

You and I seem to be on the same page. I'm leaving for Argentina myself on June 10th. When & where will you be going?

Luckily, serious waterfowl hunting is a year round sport. My only problem is trying to sneak in some fly fishing.

Paul,

I'm leaving on the 8th, will be down there for my birthday on the 10th. I have no idea where we're going exactly, I know I get on a plane in NYC and then have a 6 hour van ride once we hit the ground in BA. Our first shooting day is the 10th.

Destry,

It sounds like your going on quite the birthday adventure! With a six hour van ride I'm suspecting you may be going for ducks rather than doves. I did a combo duck/dove hunt down there last year where we had a long van ride out of BA to get to the estancia.

This year I'm just doing doves out of the Cordoba area. But even with this there will be about a three hour ride out of Cordoba to get to the town we'll be staying in.

Have a great time & we'll compare notes when we get back.

Yeah, it's mainly a duck trip though we'll do some dove shooting I'm sure. I don't care that much about it though, will probably do perdiz more if there are many birds in the area. Good luck!
