Default Little Owl Guy

This guy got too rambunctious to stay in the nest. First saw him on the 17th --

Saw him again on the 28th.

Adults are still attending to him. Hopefully this family will thin the arboreal rats!!

Wow, 11 days and nights on the ground and still hasn’t been eaten by any of several predator species in the area…

What a cutie! Here are his dopplegangers - a pair of horned owls in their nest in the stacker end of a gold dredge in SW Alaska.

I haven't actually seen them feeding the little guy, but I see them around all the time. This forenoon I was cleaning up around my Ginko tree and looked up to see him watching me --

Earlier this morning while I was cutting up a tree that didn't survive my thinning operation, one of the adults was watching me.
