The model 37 is a wonderful well made long lasting repeater. The only thing wrong with the model 37 is it is not a model 12!

Yeah the next thing you'll be telling me the only thing wrong with a parker is it's not a 21. Everybody got win. on the brain.

Just poking a little fun and have had the same conversation at my local club re: rem. Vs M12. Have 7 of the "perfect repeaters" and am a bit partial. No I was not referring to the mod 12 Remington although I have one and love it with 22 shorts and 30+ red squirrels a year out my bedroom window. All that said if the Parker Trojan 16 I was eyeing is not at the gun show next week there are a few mod 37s I did eyeball last time around- all very well priced- and given the reviews here might as well add on to my accumulations. Only Ithaca I have is a family 4E trap that very much performs for me.
Best regards.
PS. don't own a 21. Raised on Parker. For me there is just something about the lines, balance and simplicity of a Trojan that I always default to when looking at a 21. Go figure.

Well, the Ithaca 37 was first a Remington.. does that count?? You can't beat the bottom ejection and the forked loading gate that lets you push an errant shell back into the magazine when necessary. I had a gorgeous mod 12 with vent rib not too many years back and was hunting ducks and was shoving shells into the magazine as ducks were close and my glove thumb got hopelessly stuck in the loading gate causing lost shots... that was it. I sold it. I did like my $45 mint condition 20ga mod 12 as a kid though. Nice gun. Great for upland. Didn't feel so heavy as a 12ga mod 12. As for Remington 870's.... make lamps outa all of them...
