Default traveling in NY - FYI

seems not only pistols are affected

DEC says the "sensitive" areas and storage requirements also apply to long guns, this was news to me

stop for a meal or to grab a snack and you could be in trouble

Rick, your DEC reference only shows 2 pages there are actually 8 pages referring to hunting and none of them are good.

A lot of this nonsense may be sorted over time. I would implore anyone who lives in NY to join the NYSRPA (the largest NRA affiliate by membership size) and get their magazine "The Bullet" The latest issue has a lot on where this is all going. Patience is required. As a side note there are gun owners who don't support the NRA and this is just beyond my comprehension. Unless I'm gravely wrong, every major supreme court 2a victory has been spearheaded and funded and supported by the NRA. The smaller gun rights groups, which I support too, just don't have the money or lobbying power.

I avoid NY and NJ. I will not hunt there and I would rather not shoot there either. MA & CT aren't much better. Just a shame that we have to pass through them to get to ME/NH/VT. Sad that my rights end at state lines.

It's really a bummer being a NY resident. The state government is dysfunctional in so may ways it is truly sad and a real nightmare! It's the zero tolerance nation we now reside in. Law abiding citizens are no longer respected or trusted.

I would argue that the stroke of the pen is not errant, but definitely planned.

My fear is that when the concealed carry is found to be unconstitutional again but with standing- the storage and transport will be allowed to stay. Along with the semi-auto licensing

The judge from last week’s ridiculous decision has claimed that the new case against the same law is unrelated. So it was tossed into the pool and assigned to a new judge. An Obama appointee who will have to start at the beginning and set a new calendar

The people's republic of Maryland isn't much better.
