Default Steel Shot

I would like to use up some steel shot that I have from opening up some surplus 10 gauge 3 1/2 inch shells. There are 2 different shot sizes... #2's and 4's. I also have some salvaged 12 gauge steel shot wads. I will be using them in a 12 gauge Winchester model 37 that is choked modified. Has anyone had any experience with these shot sizes in a modified barrel?
