I would be interested to see photos of the rib.
Parker SBTs would have had original vent ribs from the factory (as with most all other Makes of SBTs). I wonder why one VR would be replaced with another one. Unless it was severely damaged or a higher one was desired.

Simmons Gun Specialties of Kansas City, Mo. did a great job of marketing their vent ribs in the 50`s and 60`s. I would guess some previous owner (Trap shooter) liked the idea of the "new" Simmons Vent Rib and sent the Parker to Simmons & performed the work... Have seen other vintage SBT`s with Simmons vent ribs...
