I was just given a number of antique guns one of which is a 1902 Grade 0 hammerless in what I believe is 16 gauge. It is in absolute mint condition. It is Vulcan steel marked 3 superscript 8. This gun is going in the vault! I can post pictures if helpful but I’d like to have some idea of its value.

It may be “mint” but it’s not original. Those case colors were the result of the cyannide method of color case-hardening, a process never used by Parker Brothers. There may have been a period during which Remington Arms may have used the cyannide method but I believe it would have been after WW II and they stopped the production of Parkers when WW II broke out. So, any way you look at it they are not original. What is the serial number of your Parker please?

Thanks for the info Dean. Sad to hear the gun is not original. The serial number is 113102. I assume since it is not in original condition that it would negatively affect the value.

I'm sure it's in better condition than it was before the makeover.
If it were all original and in that "mint" condition it would be worth three times it's refinished condition. .

It is newer than 1898, so technically it is not an antique. It is likely delgrego restored.

It’s about a 1902-3 gun.
