Default Keeping with tradition

So it seems every year about three weeks before the Southern my planned shooting iron of choice developes a mechanical issue.
This year, just as in the past two, it is a broken spring.

I do not know what to offically call this piece but it is part of the early single trigger mechanism. It is a very thin flat spring, about 2 thous. thick, and is shaped like a key hole to attach to a screw and a vertical piece pushes against the detent. It functions to put pressure on the rebound block/ counter weight to help it set.

I will call the usuall suspects, Delgrego, Turnbull, Kearcher, etc but any help would be greatly appreciated. I can do this work my self in about 20 minutes if I get the part.
Maybe someone has a diagram that shows this spring/ names it/ to help identify it.

Thanks,

John

No Sir. but thank you.

Dixie Gun Works and Numerick do not have any.

Hopefully Delgrego, Turnbull, etc will have a lead.

http://www.google.com/patents/about?...tent:1,219,964

Found this link to patent# 1,219,964 which is the Lefler SST that Parker used. Its the early one dated Mar 1917. Same as what is stamped in the gun.
Slightly different looking in the gun than the illistrations. I guess Parker made some modifications after they purchased this patent.
Looks like piece/ part #38 the leaf spring that acts upon the detent is the one I am looking for.

the leaf spring (part #38) is about 10mm in length and has a round top with a hole in it to allow is to be secured with a screw. The leaf spring appears to have been made very hard (hardened) and has two very critical bends in it.

This came out of #213xxx but my back up to it #211xxx has the early single trigger in it as well but with a different spring design to achieve the same effect.
Only 2000 #s difference but with two different early trigger designs. Must have been alot of design modifications going on to get it right until they decided to go with the two screw version that JP Hayes designed.

John,
You might want to try Dewey Vicknair at Vicknair Restorations. 717.626.4226. Good luck.
