Default Parker SBT doing sporting clays

Just some pics of a new to me SC SBT gun made in 1929 doing single birds on call last Saturday. A 32" straight gripper, my favorite setup.

Frank, you make a SBT so tempting...if I could find one like that. What a beautiful gun.

Wow Frank, what a sleek looking beauty. I really enjoyed meeting and talking to you at Hausmann’s.

Thanks everyone. Mike the feeling is mutual on meeting you, and Chuck of course we've know each other for a long time.

Just by coincidence yesterday's mail brought the Letter on the Parker. My friend who sold me this SC ordered the letter back in 2007. The Parker was finished in December 1929 just days after the major Stock Market Crash that brought on the Great Depression. No consignee shown. I often wonder about these Depression era guns, in this case who had the scratch to buy a $130.00 gun for the traps?

Apparently a well-heeled gentleman who's wealth didn't depend on the stock market or "futures"... or maybe he suffered as badly as most everyone else after the depression was in full swing.

Frank, the bunker trap is now open at Binghamton, weather and Rick Chordash depending. I never shot trap before so that was my first go. WOW. Those puppies are fast and long and that was fun as all hell. There was some talk there of doing a shoot in the fall wouldn't be it a hoot to see that gun there? That's the only bunker trap facility in NY State.

Rochester Brooks Gun Club just outside Rochester NY and Addison Fish & Game Club just west of Elmira are both listed as having regulation international (Olympic) trap bunkers.

Thanks again gents. What a blast to shoot “single shot sporting” with any vintage SBT gun. Andy, I was a long time member at BGC but recently my friends and I dropped out. Long story. I’m only a few miles away from Factoryville Sportsmens Club where I’m a Life Member, and nearby a handful of other clubs that offer Trap. Also a good friend has private regulation Trap and Skeet fields on his property. Anyway, I’m not a serious Trap guy but have plenty of places to shoot if I want to.

Thanks Frank. Yes, there are some politics there for sure, I just go and shoot as a regular member, it's about 3.5 minutes from my house. I was told my Rick that there is no other bunker trap in NY which is why he built that one, and said it's still the only one he's aware of. Of course, he built it in 2004 so it's been some time. Never shot at Factoryville. The Rock is my favorite but at 70 minutes don't often find the time to get there. I guess I'm lucky that within 2 hours I can hit Mike, Ernie, Factoryville, Tioga, Vernon Nat, Lehigh Valley, BGC and probably others I'm not aware of.
