Default On GunsAmerica...

Description: World Renowned J. Cliff Green Matched set 4ga pair, consecutive serial numbers, Parker Bros, BHE, single trigger, Gold capped pistol grip, skeleton butts, beavertail, skeet guns, this very special one-of-a-kind cased pair consists of consecutively numbered ˝ (half) and “00” frame receivers. Four sets of barrels, each with its own A1 style beavertail forend, were made for this pair - the only Parker documented pair that we have ever seen. This 2 gun 4 barrel set consists of 410, 28, 20, and 12 gauge 24” tubes, all unique in themselves for those reasons. The half frame gun is the only one made with both 12 and 20 gauge 24” barrels. Likewise, the “00” frame is complemented with the most unusual 24” 28 gauge tubes and 24” 410 barrels which are the only Parker barrels made in this configuration. There is a letter, that we have a copy of, delivered to the NRA December 15, 1937, it’s a letter that completely describes these guns, stating that this was “the most difficult task the Parker gun works has ever been called Upon to undertake”. These are considered the most documented Parkers in existence of the very highest quality and workmanship, and the work on these guns is virtually unequaled, one of the true landmarks in the American Shotgun collecting and Parker guns collecting. This is one of the most significant opportunities in gun collecting.

We have been perusing (is that the correct term?) the offering of those guns for a while now. I want them, but what is your point?

My first perusal of them was today...didn't see all the expressions of interest that are surely published here...somewhere...

The previous asking price, that I remember, from about 10 years ago was $250k. Bill could sell a few of his trap/pigeon guns and then buy them.

Did anybody comment on the borders of the checkering? Not mullered. Wonder if they had lost the skill set by that time. Wonder what he paid for them in 1937?

$225k. Being offered by CSMC.

The lack of mullered borders is standard affair for Ilion built guns. This gun would have been just after the move.

My kind of gun. In my younger days, I have shot NSSA registered skeet with several of Cliff Green's shooting partners, but never heard a comment about the Parkers. Those guys all shot 1100s and similar guns, and shot very high scores. Cliff apparently was a shooting partner of Nash Buckingham, but I'm not sure of that relationship.

Didn't someone make an Oscar-winning movie back in the 1940s about the woman who worked in the checkering shop at Meriden; "How Mullered Were My Borders?" Thought I recalled seeing that somewhere.
