I got this today from Bob Nay, President of the Carolina Vintagers:
"I just spoke with Rick Hemingway at Backwoods Quail and he said the shoot is definitely on! I also spoke with the Hampton Inn. Here are the highlights: The roads are open but the bridge south of Backwoods is temporarily closed requiring only a 10-minute detour to get back and forth from Georgetown. The bridge did not wash out and may, in fact, be open by the time of the shoot. Access to Pawley's Island is unimpeded and all the restaurants there are open. Some but not all of the restaurants in Georgetown on the water have been damaged but others are open. The Hampton Inn is in full operation So, let's go down there next week and have a great time. I wonder who will win the team flurry event Hammers back, Bob" So in case anyone was worried, we're still on in Geogetown later this month. Y'all come on! ----Matt |

Thanks for the kind words John. It is the attendees that make the event though, so, like Matt says, come on down

I will call Lauren in the am and get directions with changes as needed.
It is my understanding that no changes for us coming from the north. 95s to 38 (just south of Dillon), 38/ 501 to 41, 378 to 41/51 thru Johnsonville and Hemingway then left onto 51 (Browns Ferry) at Backwoods. I think there are some changes for those traveling up from the southern states and areas south of backwoods and changes from Backwoods to Georgetown. |
