Default Christmas.......

A few ducks appeared in Southern Illinois over the Christmas holidays. My father and I got out together Christmas Eve and did well. We were hunting on Mr. Russell's farm and were pleased to get the invite as always.

I managed to make a couple more hunts myself, Dad couldn't go because of all the snow piling up where he works. He's the head of building and grounds at a small college so when the white stuff shows up he's stuck organizing the plowing crews.

Gadwalls, Mallards, and Hollywood Ducks were in abundance:

Destry, looks like a great hunt.
Notning better than a good hunt with dear old Dad.

I echo Paul's sentiment; time afield with your father is truly priceless and the memories made will last a lifetime.

The standard 34 inch DHE and Kent TM, I seldom vary from this combination when out for ducks. Just seems to work.

Dad was shooting his 30 inch Winchester Model 21 with Federal Tungsten Polymer shells.

Now it's off to Chicago to see Wanda Jackson for New Years Eve.

Destry, I had no idea Wanda Jackson was still touring. You are the man, duck hunter and concertgoer. I read the program for the concert. Notice the VIP tickets include domestic draft beer, well drinks, and soda all night. You might cover the extra cost right quickly.
