Default The Return of Arrieta and Arrizabalaga

The Arrieta and Arrizabalaga fine gun makers of Spain have returned under new ownership. I understand their models start in the $30K range and are designed to compete with other high end makers around the world. Here is a link to their website showing their O&U, Express Rifles and SXS offerings, catalog and videos.

I was speaking to John Herkowitz when out at Pacific East and he mentioned this. He also said he was very skeptical they could survive but hopes they can. I could kick myself for passing up all the $3500 aYa and Arrieta's that I thought were crazy high priced for a used gun about ten years ago.

Too bad the catalog is full of Terry Weiland hype instead of some pertinent description of their guns. My Arrizabalaga 28 gauge is as good or better than anything they can build today and can be bought for less than $30,000.

On Tuesday evening I had the pleasure of meeting with Michael Yardley. Super guy and all around, “most interesting man in the world”. He gave me one of the new catalogs and we discussed the guns. Yardley assisted A&A in the design of the new guns. A quick google search will reveal his credentials and awards, including multiple British SxS championships. While the catalog does have more than a little fluff, the guns are serious shooters and well designed. I’m not sure about the prices, but they will reflect what’s gone into them. I haven’t seen one in person, yet, but I would guess they will be outstanding.
