Default Winchester 42

Fellas,

I picked up a Winchester 42 Skeet in NRA Excellent original condition yesterday when i got my Parker. I was going to be listing it on GB tomorrow night and was wondering if anyone on here had a Blue Book? If you do the serial is 65275, it has 3x walnut, factory solid rib and only a little slide wear with a couple small blemishes on the receiver. It's really beautiful, but i can't afford to keep both and, well...the Trojan stays.

Thanks in advance if someone out there is willing to help.

My 2001 Blue Book says a 95% Model 42 skeet is worth $1800 and a 98% skeet is worth $2150. Maybe someone will look them up for you in a more recent edition. Your gun is a post war gun in the "transition" period. The prices seem reasonably low and I would be glad to add such a gun to my Model 42 collection at those prices.

Thanks a lot for checking on that for me Bill.

My dad works for a gun store back home and he checked this years book...$3250 for 95%. I listed it on GB last night at 9 pm with a BIN @ $2750 and it was gone within 90 minutes. I had no idea. We'll see if this guy actually follows through. That seems like a lot to me.

That's a fair price for you and he will not back out of the deal at that price.
