Internal sleeving reversing.

Came across a Parker sleeved to a smaller gauge by one of the older techniques where a sleeve was soldered in the barrel.Is this reversable typically or usually was the barrel altered[cleaned up,drilled to receive liner]?

Are they full length or just chamber sleeves? Out of curiousity why do you want to remove them? If they are soldered in it was probably done for a specific purpose, maybe because of heavy pitting or something else. If they are simply soldered in place I would say you could remove them by heating the tubes but it will be messy. The heat would most likely knock the ribs loose too and you would have a nice
mess of solder on the inside of the tubes once you knock the sleeves out. If you do take the sleeves out and clean the bores up, I would replace the tubes with custom fit Briley tubes (maybe those are what are soldered in even, who knows). Good luck!

The gun is a rare gauge;I am asessing how and if this gun can be restored to near origional state.I am wondering if the bores have been altered to take these tubes-this was done long ago.

It would be my guess the chokes would have been removed as a straight sleeve inserted into a straight cylinder bore would be the easiest way to get the job done. As Channing said if removed you would most likely find the original reason for the sleeves and it might not be pretty. If it were me and I wanted to proceed with this project I would send the gun to Kirk Merrington and get his opinion.

Larry,this was what I suspected ;a large part of the value would be the gauge[14] but this has been radically altered,only a process like Teague relining could restore the gauge and then it would still be "messed with" .Probably will pass on this restoration effort.
