Default Languishing in Inventory

A 10-gauge, D-Quality, top-action hammer gun, 58665 is on GI along with a PGCA letter showing it ordered and shipped in March 1902. The serial number chronology shows it as an 1889 vintage gun.

I assume it was a used gun considering the sale price of $45.00 and it being shipped in a week.

I once had a DHE 28-gauge that was manufactured in 1908 but not ordered/sold until 1912 for the first time.

While these are certainly not the specialty items the Brothers P produced, back in 1935, Ithaca put out a flyer to their distributors offering a deal on old-style guns from their inventory --

Some years ago Walter posted these first two pages of this 1935 invoice for a shipment of 43 cases of 12-gauge, 30-inch, Lefever Nitro Specials to E.K. Tryon. Looking through these invoices I see many 1928 serial numbers.
