Default Dog day afternoon

I was up in Santa Ynez a few weeks back and took some pics in a field near town.

Nice looking pups.

I'm especially fond of Labs. Here's one of our Tobie when she was ten. She had yellow eyes too and was just as eager and energetic as your pup. Gone but not forgotten.

Default Our Knucklehead hound

There almost seems to be a resemblance. Our yellow eyed, six year old "Manitober" enjoys hunting with Parkers as well.

It makes it easier when using outstanding equipment. The pics in the field were taken with a D300 Nikon with a 70-200mm f2.8 lens. That combination would be about a straight across trade for a nice 20g Repro. But that lens really makes the subject pop. The D300 is gone now, sold on ebay and a new D7000 has replaced it. The lens is a keeper.

Found an old pic of the camera and lens when I first got it. I really love that lens.

Nah, Dean, that's a Nitro Special .410. I found it about 7-8 yrs ago on the net. It had some mechanical probs that made it cheap for what it is. I thought you'd seen this before.
