Scott; A quick look in the serialization book says Ser.# 55294, was the first top action hammerless listed ,that gun is not in the serialization book , but by the numbers listed the closest # in the book shows Ser.#55373, D3,Top Action,0, Extras,Capped Pistol Grip, 30In. Barreled ,10 Gauge. Russ

Scott; I apologize, but I forgot to list the year, if this info. is correct , the year would have been 1888.

I would say it is ! I have Parker Bros. EH,56251,and it is a 30 " barreled 10 Ga. On a # 2 Frame ! I am anxiously waiting to receive my barrels back from Dale Edmonds.

Sorry, Scott, the powers that be say that 91% is way beyond the capability of an antique gun with soft lead shot. I have shot such patterns for years, but I have actually started to believe those that have not shot such patterns. Oh, well.

I have yet to pull the triggers on mine ! I was walking around a local show and as I was leaving a young fellow walked through the door, said the gun once belonged to his Pap and a buddy said he could $ X.XX amount of dollars out of it ,I ask him if he had no use for his Paps gun ,he said NO ! so I agreed with his buddy and bought it ! Pretty nice shape but I wanted the barrels checked out ,and refinished so I contacted Dale and shipped them the next day, as I said ,I am looking forward to getting them back with the gun ,Have the wood refinished and the receiver cleaned up ,I think it will be really nice when it is done !

Default Earliest Hammerless Parker

Joe wood has owned 55314 for several years, and hunts regularly with it. It is an EH 30 inch gun. This is only 23 s/n greater than the first known hammerless. See Parkers Found in Parker Pages

Best, Austin

The first two shells I fired in my NH 60994 10ga. 32" 3 frame, 89% right 90% left 1 1/8 of #7"s. Had allot of fun last year in the scull boat.
