Pulled out of a parking lot yesterday, heard and
felt a terrible crash and came to a rather abrupt stop. Got out and found this. Right upper and lower ball joints failed so basically the spindle was attached by the brake line and nothing else. Waited 3+ hours for a tow (that's another story). Shop found significant play in the left ones too, along with some other stuff, to the tune of 2100 bucks. Guess that's what 200,000 miles'll do to ya, huh? Just glad it happened there and not down the highway at 75 mph
! Also glad I didn't have to put her down (I always compute the number of car payments contained in any significant repair
; I figure this'n is good for about 4 month's worth)...
