Smile Original Cases

Greetings, who made the original Parker cases and what did they look like circa 1929? Are any available either original or reproduction? If not what would be close to correct? I don't want to put my gun in a case that looks bogus. Many thanks, Greg

Gregory,

I don't know the answer to your question but it seems that you are posting the same question over and over? We hear you, give it awhile, someone else may know the answer.

Robin, in addition to not knowing the answer you seem to pose yet another question of who really needs to relax. I posted mistakedly in a category which has less visibility than where I intended to post so I simply reposted where it might be seen. I noticed you do your share of posting and I hardly intended to make a nuisance of myself by clogging up the site. If a site is not completely userfrendly to newcomers, being unfriendly to new users will not further our cause. Gregory

Gregory,

I didn't intend to offend. It just that I don't read individual category's one at a time but rather read by clicking on "New Posts" and when I did I saw your post numerous times. Anyone else keeping up with the forum in this way would also see every post all at once. I was simply trying to let you know that we were seeing all of them.

Sorry,

Robin

The answer is that a dozen to 2 dozen manufacturers made the "original" Parker cases. Most were Leg-O-Muttons and ranged from wallet-thin leather to the great beefy saddle-grade skirting leather used by Brauer Brothers of St. Louis, Heiser of Denver, and Red Head of Menominee WI. There exist a very few true English-style oak and leather cases made by the Utica Luggage Co. of Utica NY in which you will see the highest grade Parker Guns. Parker Bros. offered a plethora of qualities and styles of gun cases in their catalogs over the years, all made by different manufacturers, and in the later years of production Abercrombie and Fitch cased many Parkers in their great little trunks made by Brady of London. Ergo, there is no such thing as an "original Parker guncase", produced by Parker Bros,. but in essence every case bought to carry a Parker Gun is an "original Parker guncase." Case closed.

Gregory,
Here is an original oak and leather case as shipped with Parker 2 barrel set circa 1915.

Default Parker Case

Hi Gregory,
Thanks for the pic's, really helpful. Do you know who the manufacturer for your case is, any markings. Also, I do have my original case but not as nice as yours, do you know where or anyone with one for sale.
Thanks for sharing pic's
Joe
