This was my Dad's gun

I'd like to shoot this gun once it's been checked by a qualified gunsmith. Here's what I know about it: S/N 69918 (made in 1891), Frame size 0, Grade 3 Damascus Steel barrels. I recently relocated to Raleigh NC. My Dad passed in 1976 and I don't think it's been used since then. I'd like to preserve its originality and maybe pass it along to one of my children. What advice do you have for me?

It sounds like a nice D grade and should be shot.

Do you trust that the gunsmith knows how to measure antique shotgun barrel wall thickness for safe shooting?

I would highly recommend ordering a few boxes or a flat of 2.5” RST Classic Shotshell low pressure shells.

I am a little confused - this is the third time in 5 years you have posted nearly identical posts requesting for info on this same gun

you were invited to the Southern to have it checked, you had gunsmith referrals, in one you had RST shells ready to go


you did post pictures once, and said you were not trying to find a buyer
