Hello from a new member
I am a new member from Idaho. I recently developed an interest in Parkers and fine doubles. I recently purchased a Grade 2 G Parker manufactured in 1896, and I am interested in learning how to gently clean it up. It has Damascus steel barrels, and, to my unpracticed eye, appears to be completely original.
I plan to shoot it with low pressure loads, and I am preparing to order some low pressure ammunition from RST.
We have a lot of good bird shooting here in Idaho, including pigeons, mourning doves, Eurasian doves, quail, Hungarian partridge, chinese pheasants, sage grouse, blue grouse, ruffed grouse, other grouse, foxtail squirrels, chukar, starlings, and so forth. Plus, we have much waterfowl, including ducks and geese.
I would be very appreciate if any members could point me to some gentle and safe products to help clean up the old Parker. I do not want to overdo it, but I am going to begin by cleaning the barrel with Hoppe's 9 and RemOil.
I commend you on this website and forum. It appears to be very, very good.
This is going to be fun!!!
