Here's a treat for all the "switch-hitters." The affectionate term for those who despite their sworn allegiance to the "Brothers -P," still hold a soft spot in their hearts (and wallets) for the artistry of one, Ansley H. Fox.
It is my distinct pleasure to present one of the most stunning treasures of Foxdom to surface in decades. Discovered at a flea market on the outskirts of Philadelphia, a genuine artifact from Ansley's inner sanctum! Truly, a once in a lifetime find!
Definitely the markings of an early, 1900's piece. Notice the notches above the mirror?? The figurehead in the center? The shelves on either side, perhaps to display awards bestowed for hard-fought victories dueling pigeons in the park? The stunning, relief carving along the top portion?
Let's zoom-in on that intricate carving shall we? Hmmmm, ring any bells?
Or maybe this??
And that animal? A wolf? Coyote? Hillary Clinton? Could it be that beloved mascot from Philadelphia ?
Still no clue on those mysterious notches? What purpose might they serve? Hey, wait a minute, you don't think......
Yes, indeed. The perfect center piece for a FOX DEN!!!!!
Undoubtedly,
"The Finest Piece of Furniture in the World!!"
P.S.---I wonder if a certain, 30" DH Parker was ever displayed here?
