It's a very interesting piece. some case color, SST, barrels in great shape. All new wood, though extremely nice wood. If I purchase it, I will post pictures. Thanks for the help.

Is the forearm lug a beavertail lug? Do the barrels appear to be refinished? If the lug is a beavertail type and the barrels do not appear refinished then it was likely an original beavertail gun.

Bo, sorry I misread your post. I mistakenly thought you were asking about the originality of the existing forend. After re-reading I see you are asking if the gun originally was equipped with a BTFE. You may have to order a letter ,if info is available, to find out

I just joined today to learn more details about the Parker that's been in the family for 40+ years, so informally hello everyone!
Bo, Interesting coincidence as my gun is #242242. Sadly the pad was altered but other than that I think it's pretty original. Here's the fore stock:    Hope it helps you out. |

Scott, as you stated, except for the 'pad' your VHE is "right as rain". It looks like you might have a problem with the ejector hammer in the forend staying cocked. Do NOT attempt to repair it yourself. If it is in fact, a problem, it needs to go to an expert in Parker ejector work.
That's an extremely nice gun and was made at the very end of Parker production by Remington Arms in Ilion, NY. At one time I owned the beavertail forend from Parker 242262 which was a DHE or CHE. |
