Yup, the one barrel guns were $1895. The two barrel sets (with beavertail ?) were $2695. I wanted a one barrel set, but none of the dealers had one barrel 28" 28 gauges with double triggers. Guns Unlimited had three two barrel sets with beavertail, straight grip, and double triggers. The lady taking my order opened all three boxes and picked the one she liked the best and sent it to me. Years before the closeout, two friends bought 28 gauge, 28", splinter, double trigger guns with consecutive serial numbers. Another identical consecutive numbered gun was offered, but I wasn't up to the $3370 retail price because I had a BHE .410 on order with no idea what that one would cost. Just last year, the third consecutive gun came up on Gunbroker and I ended up buying it. The second one of the first two ended up with one of my friends. Some day I may end up buying those two.

Here's one of the closeout advertisements:

The posted ad for $1995 included the $100 surcharge for single trigger because no double triggers were available at that point in single barrel sets. Other ads listed the one barrel sets at $1895. Note the $100 surcharge for a 12 gauge gun. Thanks for the great ad.

Would you please post one of those ads, Bill?

To all

I have owned a lot of Parker guns & a few repos, just remember one thing about all of them " an iffy gun will always be an iffy gun "!!!!! During my collecting life, I have WALKED on a lot of iffy guns. The climb was not worth the view .

Best
Allan

Greg, I think most of the closeout ads were for $1895. This ad just posted is the first one I have ever seen that mentions $1995. We have a file of Repro paper somewhere on this site.

I can't find an $1895 closeout price in any ad in our PGCA collection, although I did find a $2095 ad. I will keep looking for the $1895 ad.

Along with the $2095 price for the ST Repros you likely missed the $1995 price for DT Repros, as shown below. I don't believe you're going to find a closeout ad listing the DT guns at $1895. I know we "Never Say Never" in the Parker World, but I will say this -- I have never seen a Closeout Parker Reproduction ad listing a DHE DT 20 or 28ga. Repro for $1895. -- they've all been listed at $1995. I would hope that someone would prove me wrong and post a pic of one of these ads as I'd love to expand my knowledge . . . but I'm not holding my breath.

I am probably wrong about the $1895 ad. It's hell getting old.
