I agree with stub twist. Ballistol is the best all around product for gun care.

action/wood maintenance
I totally agree with both of the above posters. I would add that as far as the action goes, use a premium gun grease on areas of the action where metal rubs against metal. If the gun has any age on it at all, such areas are easily identifiable by displaying shiny areas of wear. As far as the wood goes, I've never had a problem wiping areas where sweaty/dirty hands may have handled it by lightly wiping those areas with a rag with a very light application of the Ballistol on it.

For the hinge pin, knuckle, and other areas exposed to movement and friction.

Yep, Ballistol for me, and hinge pin grease.

Ballistol or Clenzoil, I prefer the former. I have also used Rig grease for the hinge area and that stuff is very good. A small tub of that will last a lifetime.

Ballistol and Rig for me as well. The hinge isn't the only metal-to-metal surface that needs the lubrication. The knuckle where the forend iron meets the frame, the sides of the lug, and one place that most everybody misses, the flat, yet somewhat curved forward face of the rearmost locking lug where it contacts the crossmember in the slot in the frame for the lug.
