Etching of Canada Geese
Dean,Canada geese mate for life,this etching I did from memory while returning home from my trap line I came to find two geese just as you see them in the etching the goose that is standing was honking and you could tell it was morning the death of it mate. J.J.

I knew that about Canadas and suspected the story went something like that.
I came upon a cow moose in Vt that was moaning and calling and running the edge of a big section of woods. I had seen her and her calf a couple of days earlier but the calf had been killed by coyotes since the first time I saw them. She was near frantic in calling for her calf. Pretty sad... .

really good jj it seems in the animal and bird world mourn for their family as much as humans do maybe more....charlie

JJ, I didn't see the sadness the first time I saw the etching. Thank you for the story behind the etching. See you on Friday, I hope. Linda and I are mourning the death of her oldest son, Bill, service to be held in New Market, Virginia this Saturday. Your etching is a calming influence on Linda and me.
