Default Just Do It

I may have posted this before but as our VT rifle deer season quickly approaches this becomes more central to the task, as well as turkey season in the spring.
I penned this about twenty years ago and it is tacked on the bunkroom wall.

This applies to any waterfowler as well. Get up! The best time of day is the beginning.

Aldo Leopold wrote about coffee pots and duck hunters loving the pre-dawn hours. I'd sure add deer hunters and Spring turkey chasers...and farmers.

I have always been an early riser, and I feel I get the best part of the day in watching the sunrise.

Thanks, Dean, for reminding us of this wonderful time of year, and those wonderful moments of the day.

As I age with aches and pains in the cold, nothing erases them like being in the blind watching the decoys dance. My 57th year and it is still thrilling to be in the blind at sunrise.
