It still works for me although it's changed. I can call up the actual page in Sporting News along with the text.
Click on the link Drew provided. When you get to the redirected page, type Sporting Life in the search box. It will bring you to a new page. Now type in Fred Gilbert in the search box at the top. The new page will now display all Sporting Life articles that contain Fred Gilbert. Select one of these. It now brings up the text but also a copy of the article. Works for me. |

Thank you so much Chuck. The old links don't work, but at least we can still search.
And I've found no way to open a specific issue ie. by entering "May 24, 1913 Sporting Life" in the Search function

I tried and I don't see May 14, 1913 but I do find many issues in 1913..... if I am doing this right?
Enter "sporting life" in the search box and on the page that comes up, on the left expand the "Year" section and find 1913 (strange but they are not sorted). Click on that and it searches out all the 1913 and then in the lowers section on the left side are the issues in the "Date" section. I see May 03 ans May 10 for 1913? I clicked on May 10 and it's pages came to life. It is a bit hard to use............... |

It's an absolute bitch to use. The worst change they made was making us select a specific issue of Sporting Life to find our search word. I want my search to cover all issues, not one at a time.

Doesn’t it have a “keyword” search function like Robin’s digital archives?

I don't know what the situation is today because I haven't checked since yesterday. It has been different every time I've checked in the last few months.
