Very nice John, now you get to join the rest of us just waiting for next fall. I couldn't help but notice that look in your dogs eye that say's "I really wish he used a Parker".

John,
What part of PA do you hunt? You are obviously finding birds. How was your overall flush rate this year? I've been hunting grouse for 40 years in PA and this has been the worst year ever, and with a new puppy to boot! What a bummer.

Two birds on the last day of the season will tide you over till next year. I know as I did it last year and one of the birds was shot over my oldest setter which turned out to be his last.

Gary, I hunt the Northwest quarter, from about midway up. I have had a rate this year around 3.5 ,(dont ask of my shooting) I think due to good numbers of birds in the cuts around the A.N.F. There are some good areas provided by state and private logging properties that are really coming into their own and look promising for the future. I have used some habitat maps and found more cover than I could hunt in 10 years. The last point is something no one likes to think of, I am sorry to hear that.

Thanks for the sentiment regarding my old setter. He is still with me but cannot hunt any longer due to a medical condition. He gets to work the pigeons at home though and seems happy with that.

I just love hunting with my parker repros. Both have double triggers and when it gets so cold that I have to wear heavy gloves I just cannot work the back trigger well. We never reached the 10 degree mark this last week of the season so I too was relegated to using a single trigger gun.
