I will have the Griffith AAH on display at the Vintage Cup. Parker gave him the gun- 32” Straight stocked gun with engraved gold shield in the stock.

Perhaps Drew will point out Mr Griffith on the 1901 GAH Live Bird "Straights" image (attributed to Dave Noreen) that he included in the trapshooter link?

Frank: I can't find Dave's full size image. If you or he will post it, I'll crop to just the faces and see if I can enhance it enough to pick out E.C. Griffith and some of the others. Or send it to me as a full size jpg attachment to revdoc2@cox.net

Here is the list of the 25 straights who went to the shoot-off; 6 Parkers
http://library.la84.org/SportsLibrar.../SL3704018.pdf

BTW: E.C. and almost all the guys were using 1 1/4 oz. with 3 1/2 Dr. Eq. Bulk Smokeless with pressures about 11,500 psi = the modern SAMMI recommended max.
http://library.la84.org/SportsLibrar.../SL3704019.pdf
42 gr. L&R Bulk = 3 1/2 Dr. Eq.
NOT light loads

1 1/4 oz. 3 1/2 Dr. Eq. (1275 fps) in an 8# gun (the limit at that time) = 27 ft/lbs free recoil

Found that "The American Field" April 13, 1901 image of the "straights" but apparently lost in the Photobucket fiasco http://www.doublegunshop.com/forums/...30518&page=all
I've got a tiny low resolution copy

CSL has an invaluable image from a tournament with the competitors numbered and named which should help ID the GAH shooters
