Default Damascus crack

Can a 1/2" crack in a damascus barrel be welded or otherwise be repaired. It is an old crack that had rust inside.I have been shooting the gun with low pressure loads before I found the crack.

Yes it can likely be routed and welded but the repair will always be visible.

It is vital to know WHERE the crack is. Anywhere from the breech to the first 18 inches of barrel is a critical pressure area. Bachelder's can give you a professional assessment. And for this gun, I'd say LOW pressure loads are a safe idea. Forever.
