Default Parker Order Books

With the passing of Babe Delgrego last year, I thought this worth bringing up again.

It's well known that the Delgrego family holds several Parker record ledgers.

Perhaps this is the time for the PGCA to approach them again about a possible purchase them.

Not a bad idea Destry but it's above my pay grade! We don't need to own them, just be able to photograph them. Same with Galazan and the stock books that Remington has. Just need to photograph them.

Obviously they aren't going to allow them to be copied, cause if they were it would have happened by now.

Perhaps a cash remuneration in tribute to their preservation of the history of the Parker Gun would purchase them though.

Last time I was aware, the PGCA was pretty well heeled. Maybe spending some of that cash to further the work the organization was founded to do might be a good idea.

Personally I don’t think that will ever happen and Lawrence has said so.
But the one thing he didn’t say is that there are probably too many well kept secrets within those pages…

Everybody who was involved is dead, everybody whoever bought one of those guns is dead. I'm guessing the Delgrego family isn't millionaires, a strong cash offer might get it done.

I still wonder about back in 2013 at the annual meeting when two different people at the podium spoke about how the PGCA was going to be acquiring some of the missing records. It was not heard of again after that time. I would assume that whatever was supposed to be happening fell apart.

While at the Southern I had a vendor ask me to look at a gun that wasn't on the table. Probably due to the Parker hat and vest badges, not that in impowers expertise! I am fairly certain it was an upgrade, and asked if he checked the book/site, he indicated no records available. It wore the familiar Delgrego colors. Perhaps the heart of the problem. But, let them that don't ask, have fond memories of not gotten any!

For the past 20 years I have served on either the board of directors of the PGCA or the Foundation. During that time both boards have considered all kinds of options and approaches to acquiring any and all of the known remaining records that we don’t already have. To date no avenues have been successful. I am certain that we will continue to pursue the records when opportunities present themselves, but based on my personal past experience I wouldn’t hold my breath that any of the parties on the other side of the equation will be willing to negotiate. Hopefully one day I’ll be proven wrong.
