Default Parker SxS Info -What exactly do I have here?

Hey all,

New member and hoping for some honest expertise and pricing information. I recently came into a SxS 12 gauge that belonged to an old co-workers father. He didn't have the greatest relationship with him from what I'm told, so he just wanted it out of his place. After many years of holding it, I'm hoping instead to sell it for him and deliver him so much needed vacation money (I'm 31M, he's 70(ish)M), so I'd like him to have a little more enjoyment in retirement. These are the specs I've obtained through this website;
-1916 manufacture date (serial 174207 all matching)
-VH Vulcan steel Barrel 30"
-Frame size 2
-Weight --4 with what looks like a 3 exponent (4 cubed? no clue)
-Grade 0 hammerless
-Has american walnut finish with that checkered pistol grip.
-Rubber dogs head butt plate (butt plate is broken at bottom section)
I'm located up in Canada (Eh), and noticed prices fluctuate all across the map. I've attached photos, and any info is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Andrew

Look on gunbroker past sales. That's a good indication of true sales price. Not listing price, that's most often wishful thinking.

Your gun is a VHE, not a VH. The VHE (E for automatic ejectors) is always factory marked only with the VH, don't know why. The 4-3 signifies a barrel weight before final striking, as 4 pounds, 3 ounces. The gun seems to be field used and complete. It probably works just fine and will be of interest to shooters. Canadian prices seem to be lower than US prices but can't give an estimate.

12 gauge VHE guns on a 2 frame do not typically command a high price unless in pristine condition. The ejectors do add value but the broken butt plate will detract a little. Put it on Gun Broker with a starting price of 1 cent. Put a reserve price of $2000 on it and see what happens.

You're in Canada like me,a 12 boreVH doesn't command a great price in the USA even less up here ,if it's in great shape ,good screws,tight action and solid wood you'll be hard pressed to get 500 for it

Good morning, appreciate your help for the old guy selling it for him. It looks to be a very serviceable piece and should give a new owner many years of a classic shotgun so be proud of it and I hope it brings a fair price
