Dean ...You are absolutely correct!! There are no comparisons in the new offerings on the market. You can pick up nice 20 ga guns for under 4k and 28 ga under 5k....Best value in the market. Fit, finish are exceptional....Brad

[QUOTE=Dean Romig;130223]The Parker Reproduction is absolutely the best deal of all new SXS shotguns made in the US in the last fifty years. [QUOTE]
Dean, I agree with you completely, but you don't really mean "made in the US" do you? I'm sure you know they were made in Japan. I've read somewhere (here?) that they'd cost more than $10,000 if they were made today. |

You got me there Joe. Maybe I should have worded that statement differently... "..made by a US company (Winchester in this case)" would have been better.
Thanks, Dean |

After the news of the factory closure Tom looked all around the world to find a new place to have the guns made. He said that it would make the cost of his repro's over 10K each! That was back in 1989 I think. This info is in the parker story. If CSM did make a Parker DHE grade gun Im sure they would start at 15 or 16K or more, they would have bone color case and oil finished wood and similar engraving system. I have one repro 20ga. that has bone color and it is wonderful compaired to the wash they come with. For about 6K or so you can buy a repro and send it to Brad and have the wood and metal done. They then look sooo good! I hope to have one of my sets done soon....(-: thanks all SXS ohio

Ithaca Classic Doubles went out of business 6-8 years ago because they couldn't make money on Grade 4 NIDs at $7500.
I believe that Ken is well in the ballpark with his $15-16 base price for a DHE today and maybe very low. Bob Jurewicz |

I think the ICD situation is that they could have made money if they could have sold them. The last price increase was so steep that, as a dealer, I couldn't even see it clear to buy at cost. In addition, an even more important part of Lamboy's failure was that he had serious sourcing problems.

My offer on that gun was repeatedly rejected. As I have been told by its "maker" it started life as a 4E and was upgraded to 5. It has features not found on any other ICD of regular production: ejector cutoffs and butt treatment. Being a big fan of ICDs I would love to own that fabulous gun!!!!!!
