Default C grade barrel flat markings

This C has unusual barrel flat markings. Anybody have an idea of their meaning or significance. Unfortunately in one of the missing stock books.

What you see are four separate Remington service or repair date codes.

I’m sure someone will look them up and post the dates here.

Your serial number may be among the missing but those date codes were stamped long after the gun was manufactured.

Isn't it too bad that Remington used the IBM Cards instead of writing down what the gun was and what was done to the gun upon any of the returns ! My CHE 20 Gauge has three or four codes on it also and I would love to have more information on it ! At least it listed who the Buyer was and even that little bit of info. is rarely found !

And the “3” suffix indicates a service or repair.
