Default Parker Books

I inherited the two big Parker books, in a case and slip case of some sorts along with about 4 other Parker books. Does anyone still buy them? Jake

The Parker Story is being sold in scratch and dent form by the publisher for about $250, new without slipcase. The early Baer pair is collectable and sells for $120, I think. The Baer combined edition is common and easy to find at $60. The Peter Johnson book can be bought for $20 with the first edition selling for a few dollars more. I welcome comments and corrections from other posters. I'm just trying to give some help to the original poster. Yes, people want these books and they can be sold, no problem. However, if you go on ebay and search "baer parker" you will find that I may be very wrong. I think the sellers offering the two books, volume one and two of Baer is about on the money, but the seller offering the later combined book at $125 is dreaming. There is a Deluxe, padded cover version of the Volume 1 Baer that is more valuable than the hard cover Volume 1. If you have all Baer volumes with the reprint of the 1895 catalog, get back to us, because that is very valuable.

Bill, I bought the Baer padded 2 volume set with the salesmans catalog signed and numbered several years back for $300.00 if I remember right.I think you're spot on about the other two book's.

I thought Daniel was selling the "scratch and dent" volumes for $200.00. I could be wrong though.

I recently gifted a blemished set w/o slip case of The Parker Story which I purchased through the Double Gun Journal and paid $195 including the shipping. Upon inspection of the books I couldn't detect what was wrong with them to classify them as blems--they appeared perfect to me.

Jerry, why would you want to sell them? They all are great Parker references.

Not sure I want to, I don't work on many Parkers though, I'm mainly a Smith man but I sure know the Parkers are of very high quality. Jerry

If you do decide not to keep them you should at least read them all. I know The Parker Story is comprised of two thick volumes but to have a set and never read them would be cheating yourself... IMHO

I just bought my blemished set from DGJ for $195, also. What a great investment! I cannot figure out what the blemish is either. I just don't know what to do with my other Parker book. I was just as clueless after reading it as I was before I bought it!

I actually inherited quite a few books, Winchesters as well as Parkers, Ithaca, Lefever and 1989 through present on the DGJ. I'd actually like to sell the whole shebang I think. Jerry
