Were not some BHE bbls sold with DHE guns as two bbl sets?? would those necessarily match? Mine did not. I had a set like that. Sold the gun ,kept the 12 ga bbls since they were Q1 &Q2 and I have 2 other 12s.

It was reported that all BHE grade Repros were built as 2-bbl. sets. Some buyers of BHEs only wanted one set of barrels, so there were some BHE barrels left over which Parker Reproductions then added to DHE grade guns.
A friend of mine had a 12-ga. DHE 2-bbl. set with both sets of barrels BHE grade, the serial numbers on the frame and barrels of his gun all matched. Donovan, did you buy your gun new with the mismatched barrels? If not, could the mismatched BHE barrels been added by a previous owner?

I bought it used. Neither the Bhe bbl or the fore end serial numbers matched the bbl and receiver. This I discovered after purchase. Was not advertised as such. I thought some one traded out the fore end but the case was a 2 bbl case so I never considered it was a composed set until now.

Its pushing 30 years for the repro's......I see more and more non original guns and stuff being used for other purposes than intended, altered or broken up. A classic move is to cut the wonderful skeleton but plate off! We all need to pay close attention to condition and originality with price/value in mind. Repro's were made to use!....and they are being used. I seldom see mint unfired new in box repro's anymore that have everything with them. A hard to find, NIB gun will bring all the money in the days to come!!! SXS ohio

I have had a 28 ga 2bbl set for the last 5 years. I just discovered that the 28 in
barrels sport a different serial #. Beavertail forend, single trigger, 26 in ic/m, 28 in m/f longer length of pull. 2 bbl case. This gun has the outstanding wood for a dhe. 75% case color left. I find it hard to beleive it is a put together set. what kind of value would this set have? no fishing here just looking for insurance info my 28 ga is not for sale. |
