Default Bought myself a birthday present

Winter Bluebills by Chet Reneson. Looks better without the glare...

Great birthday present. Love his work, I have a similar one "Good Olde Days" hanging in my living room for over 20 years with his "Partridge Tree" print also.

I was fortunate enough to have a couple of telephone talks with Chet a few years ago when I was featuring artists' paintings for some of the Parker Pages covers. A truly nice and generous guy. Lives in Connecticut as I recall.

I also have one of his prints that was done for Ducks Unlimited. The book “The Watercolors of Chet Reneson” had two hundred copies that he added a pencil sketch on the subject of your choice.
I have one book with a salt water fly fisherman. I had another done for a friend with a sketch of a pheasant hunter. He was kind enough to add a water tower with the name of the town where I hunted with the friend. I got to talk to him a couple of times. A real gentleman. You made a great choice in your artist. Happy Birthday!

A great birthday present -- happy birthday!

Really nice, and reminds me of a few hunts I had back in the 70's and early 80's on Thomas Hill lake in MO. Used to be awesome for late season diver hunting. Warm water from Power plant meant when rest of the world was frozen, TH would be covered up with divers....

Very cool! I have that book also albeit without the sketch. The print is signed and numbered. Got it at a local antique mall for basically the price of the frame. I'm not a waterfowl hunter but I couldn't walk away.

Great painting. it reminds me so much of the one that hangs over my left shoulder as i type this, Nervous Cans by Les Kouba. Marsh duck scenes, especially in rough weather, are just special.

Beautiful Stan. I have Les Kouba's "The Blizzard", pheasants picking their way through the snow. Here's a quiet corner; the new acquisition on the left and Andrew Wyeth's "The Coot Hunter" on the right.
