Default 2 1/2" Reloading Date

Does anyone have reloading data for 2 1/2 inch shells in 12, 16, or 20 gauge?

Thanks in advance. Tom Carter

Tom for the 16 gauge I load, 2 1/2 either fiocchi or cheddite hull. guilandi 1621 wad, 7/10 ounce of 9 shot, 19 grains of unique, and a f616 primer. Its about 7500 psi and 1150 to 1175 fps. This is my skeet load.

This load is dirty, alot of ash in the barell.

Unique, is not one of the better powders for L.P. 16 gauge loads.

Tom:

I load 7/8 oz (same wad as above) with 18 grns of PB or 14 grns of Clays. These are about 7500 psi and shoot well. I joined the 16GA society and got their extensive list of good 16ga loads. You might like to check them out at www.16ga.com (click on the picture) I also have shot 2 1/2" shells from Polywad, WM. Larkin Moore, and find these low pressure loads shoot well in my old British doubles, including the Damascus guns.

Hi Greg, Thanks for the info. I'm not sure I understand which wad you are referring to. Cheers, Tom

Try contacting Ballistic Products(BPI) they have load data for the 2 1/2 inch 28 gauge hull.I would think they would have data for 2 1/2 inch in other gauges as well.

Be very careful of Ballistic Products loading data, if you're concerned with low pressure. The loads in their manuals are known to be higher pressure than they report.
